Before calling the Clinical Engineering Department, Always refer to the
Troubleshooting Table in the RBA Manual. You may be able to solve the problem yourself. If you are not able to
do so within 10 -15 minutes follow the steps below.
What to do in case of a breakdown/emergeny •
Turn RBA off and unplug to minimize damage to equipment and the
environment.
• Notify the lab manager or attending
physician.
• Retain and perserve any disposable products that may have been involved (e.g., drapes,
tubing sets, electrodes), as well as their packaging materials. Call Clinical Engineering for
pickup- Do notsend
equipment to Clinical Engineering or Equipment Distribution.
•
Document on QS reporting site per UVA procedure (Policy 132).
•
For assistance : during day shift call 4-2391; on weekends & evenings, page 1202).
